Food: A Love Story book review

A book by Jim Gaffigan.

This is unarguably my favourite book. It’s funny, comedy related and just weird in so many different ways like when he said his favourite vegetable is a marshmello.

He said so many funny things and described them in such weird ways. If I’m being completely honest right now my favorite part was the chapter called the celebration of food. He was talking about celebrations like Christmas, Easter and Halloween. The Halloween one was my favourite because he said that Halloween for kids is the best, you knock on your neighbors doors and you get candy and you can dress up as a superhero. But then he said “As an adult if I do it nowadays, my neighbour wants me arrested. Probably because I do such a hot cat woman impression, “Purr kitty want some candy!””

The thing I really like about Jim Gaffigan is that he doesn’t swear, he’s not like the other comedians that swear in practically every single sentence they say. In the other book that I listened to it was at least seven to eight hours long but somehow he only swore twice.

Another thing that I really like about him is that I don’t know if this is how he actually sounds or he’s just doing it for the book but he somehow always sounds drunk not in a bad way but he just mumbles a little bit sometimes.

An amazing book and I hope I haven’t spoiled too much. I totally recommend it to anyone out there and this is a five star book. Thanks for reading.
