The City Of Ember book review

The City Of Ember is a fantastic book by Jeanne DuPrau.

I really enjoyed this book because it has thrilling events and a lot of tension, like when they were traveling to escape Ember or when Lina was running away because she did something “wrong”. It’s a brilliant book about this underground city that nobody knows about except the people who live there. Then the lights are going down so these two people: Lina Mayfleet and Doon Harrow were escaping Ember.

The storyline is great and it really shows that by the way its put. I totally recommend it. 5 stars. Because it’s an underground city, the mayor comes round the school every once in a while to give sheets of paper telling of a job that the teenagers have to do to be able to keep the city in place, keep it working, and make them feel like they’re doing something useful for the community.

Currently the mayor has been doing something bad and has left it up to everyone else to fix. Lina Mayfleet’s dad had died when she was very young so it was only her grandma looking after her. Sadly her grandma died so she had to look after her and her little sister.

Her and her best friend Doon tried to escape Ember. With a candle in one hand and helping a young child as well, will they make it or get caught trying? If you really can’t wait to know, read the book!

Thank you for reading and if you have read the book you’ll know how good of a book it is and understand what I mean.
