This is a interesting book about a boy called doon and a girl called Lina
Both of these characters are 12 to 13 years of age and are trying to find a way out of their underground city because the lights are running out of power and then the city would be plunged into Darkness where everyone will slowly die. So their mission is to use the instructions that they found from the mysterious box to find the way out of the city of Ember . On the way out they find out some troubling news news about people they thought they could trust.
It is a thrilling book and my favorite part about it is when the lights of the city go out and while she’s in a hard situation. Then she runs out as fast as she can and by the end of it she is exhausted .It was so thrilling because she had to memorise the whole way there while trying not to fall over in the dark
The book is quite confusing at the start but it all makes sense later on. I’d give it a five stars because at no point in the book I felt bored, in a way there was always something interesting happening even if it was a little confusing I’m excited to read the rest of the books and see how Lina and Doon overcome the challenges in the rest of the books. I’ve already started the second one already and it is amazing so definitely read the book when you can.
